1. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (Halftime)- may not have been a true paid ad, but it functioned as one to consumers

2. Budweiser’s “Puppy Love” (4th Quarter)

3. GoDaddy’s “Bodybuilder” (4th Quarter)

4. Doritos’s “Cowboy Kid” (4th Quarter)

5. Toyota Highlander’s “Terry Crews & the Muppets” (2nd Quarter)

6. Doritos’s “Time Machine” (1st Quarter)

7. RadioShack’s “Phone Call” (1st Quarter)

8. Oikos Greek Yogurt’s “The Spill” (4th Quarter)

9.  Bud Light’s “Up for Whatever #2” (1st Quarter)

10. Squarespace’s “A Better Web Awaits” (1st Quarter)

And here, by contrast, is a list of most popular ads according to the USA Today Ad Meter, which seems to favor sentimentality over humor:

1. Budweiser’s “Puppy Love”

2. Doritos’s “Cowboy Kid”

3. Budweiser’s “Hero’s Welcome” (3rd Quarter)

4. Doritos’s “Time Machine”

5. Radio Shack’s “Phone Call”

6. Hyundai’s “Dad’s Sixth Sense” (1st Quarter)

7. Cheerios’s “Gracie” (1st Quarter)

8. Microsoft’s  ”Empowering” (4th Quarter)

9. Coca Cola’s “Going All the Way” (4th Quarter)

10. Pepsi’s “Soundcheck” (Halftime)

We’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see how these lists compare with what was hottest on social media; Twitter promises stats about the game’s ads later this week, as well as the results of its #AdScrimmage competition. YouTube will accept votes for its own Ad Blitz competition — another “favorite commercial” vote — through Feb. 10, though it seems like “Puppy Love” will be pretty tough to beat; the spot’s official video has already been viewed over 37 million times on the streaming site. By contrast, Hyundai’s Johnny Galecki-starring “Nice” – YouTube’s second most-watched 2014 commercial so far — clocks in at a mere 12.5 million views as of this morning.
