In todays society many of us are focused on living are lives through social media we think that through social networks, we’ve somehow become more social creatures. This video illustrates research carried out by Sherry Turkle and tackles this theory and actually the more we “connect” online, the less actual human interactions we have, making us actually fairly unsocial. This leading to the conclusion that the more we involve are lives online, creating fake experiences and photos to entice likes and shares from online friends, we are missing out on real life experiences and friendships and are in-fact creating a more lonely world for ourselves.
I think this is a beautifully executed animation with a very thought provoking message which is made me personally think differently to how I look at social media.
